Bandipora, May 04: Three days after a youth was killed in a Bike accident in Bandipora, Police launched a massive crackdown on the violators of traffic rules.
Station House Officer Syed Gazanfar said police seized 14 vehicles and also referred 106 cases of violations to the Bandipora court. The violators have been booked under relevant cases in the local court.
On Sunday a youth from Sopore was killed in a bike accident in Bandipora. The cause of the accident was said to be rash driving. Following the incident, locals expressed concern over the rash driving by bikers. Locals had alleged that minors are seen doing stunts on Patushai to Qazipora stretches near Degree College while Traffic police acts as mute spectators.
Following the public outcry Police cracked down on the stunt bikers and rash drivers. The team was lead by SHO under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of police Shri Mumtaz Ahmad.
People have appreciated the police action against violators and hoped that the crackdown will continue in future.
Meanwhile Police requested parents not to give there under-aged wards driving permissions so as to keep check on any untoward occurance.
