V K Singh’s statement ridicules: Hurriyat (G)

‘India is issuing these types of statements since last 69 years’

Srinagar, May 03 (KNS): While terming the statement of Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Mr. V K Singh that “Hurriyat leaders are free to meet the representatives of Pakistan or the Pakistan High Commission officials” as ridicules, Hurriyat (G) said that the pro-freedom leaders had not asked for the permission from the Indian government in this regard.
They were meeting the Pakistan officials in the past and will continue to do so. Pakistan is not only an important party to the Kashmir dispute but this country also supports the right to self determination of the Kashmiri people and no power in the world can break these relations of the Kashmiris with Pakistan.
While rejecting the remarks of Mr. V K Singh that “Hurriyat leaders are Indian citizens”, Hurriyat (G) said that India is holding Kashmir on gun point and with the help of its military might and the people of Kashmir have never accepted this forced marriage.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that there is nothing like that in the statement of Mr. V K Singh which can be praised or welcomed.
He said that Kashmir dispute is a Himalayan reality. There are three parties to this dispute and the Kashmiris were always meeting Pakistani representatives since the plebiscite movement.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that the BJP in August 2014 called off the Indo-Pak foreign secretary meeting on the grounds that Hurriyat leaders were also invited by the Pakistan on that day and this decision was based on fanatic politics and political immaturity and there is no room for this type of thinking in the practical world. BJP government faced humiliation for its policies and it was necessary for them to change it.
While out rightly rejecting the statement “Hurriyat or any third party has no role in the two party talks of India and Pakistan” of Mr. V K Singh, the Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that Kashmir is not any border dispute between India and Pakistan which could they solve by just talking to each other. It is the issue of the future of 15 million people and the international community also recognizes their demand for the right to self determination and they have been promised on national and international forums that the Kashmiri people will be given a fair chance to decide their future and their views will be respected.
The spokesman said that India is issuing these types of statements since last 69 years now but this could not change the reality of Kashmir dispute nor did they succeeded in suppressing the freedom sentiments of the people.
He said that the Kashmir dispute is a major cause of prevailing political uncertainty and instability in the entire South Asian region and the people here are carving for the peace, development and prosperity. (KNS)
