Srinagar | Apr 30 (PTK): Police have arrested Medical Superintendent Unani Hospital Shantang Dr Javid Ahmad on the charges of raping a woman in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Police sources told PTK that a woman (name withheld) of Ajas Sumbal of Bandipora has lodged a complaint that Dr Javid had raped her when the accused had gone to meet victim’s husband at their home, the last week. Follow which the accused was arrested and is in custody of Police Station Sumbal.
A senior police official said the accused has been booked under Section 376 and 342 with FIR No 62/2016.
“Medical examinations have been conducted on the victim which is positive,” the police official said. (PTK)
