JAMMU, APRIL 28 Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organised an impressive function on Bazam-e-Sheeraza Pahari at K. L Saigal Hall, Cultural Academy Jammu here today.
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan who was the chief guest on the occasion appreciated the steps taken by the academy to promote Pahari Language and Culture in all aspects. He said that all out efforts should be made to preserve and promote Pahari Culture and acquaint younger generation to our rich cultural heritage .
The Minister stressed on providing platform to the budding writers poets and artists to show their talent
Secretary J&K Academy of Art culture and languages Dr Hazizi Hajni in his welcome address said that the academy is committed to promote the regional languages and in this regard various programmes including Mushaira, Conferences, Seminar, workshops are being organised at district and state level.
Two papers on the Pahari short story and poems were presented by the noted writers and scholars Nissar Rahi and Anwar Khan respectively. While poetry was recited by Sheikh Zahoor and story presentation by Zanfer Khokhar.
Earlier, two prominent singers including Master Kartar Chand and Parvez Malik presented beautiful and touching pahari songs which mesmerized the audience.
