Education Observers continue to visit B’pora Schools

Bandipora, April 25: Education observers continue to visit schools in Bandipora district to assess the learning process in the schools. Over the past few weeks these observers have been monitoring learning levels in schools by using a scientifically designed monitoring tool that captures reading and mathematics levels.

The visits have given mixed responses. Locals said there is a lot that needs to be done to improve the situation. An official of the Chief Education Office requested

Teachers and Head Masters  to work on improving students’ basic competencies as prescribed by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir and the State Institute of Education.

An Education Observers Group had been constituted by the District to monitor schools across the District. They were also adopting high-enrolment schools to personally try and improve learning levels in them.

Twenty six Education Observers are monitoring learning levels in schools in the cluster allotted to them at random and record their observations.teaching

After nominating the observers, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Sajad Hussain Ganai said in addition to observation, the observers will adopt at least 3 schools each as per their area of preference. He also released the list of the schools allotted to the observers in three blocks of the district including Sonawari, Gurez and Bandipora.

Ganai said the EOs have to visit each adopted school at least once a month and will also monitor the learning levels in Anganwadi Centres in the vicinity of their adopted schools  and have to report to DC Bandipora . A review meeting will be held in the first week of each month about the progress of the schools.

District Development Commissioner will personally monitor  a Middle School in remote village of Authwatoo besides,  KGBV Quil, Nowgam and Ajas while ADC Bandipora will look after GMS SK Bala, MS SK Payeen, GMS Chewa and MS Takiya Chewa
