One killed two hurt after car collides with army vehicle in Pulwama

Pulwama, April 22, CNS: A Bank employee from Raj Bagh Srinagar was killed while two others were wounded when a speedy Army vehicle hit an Alto car on way from Srinagar to Pulwama near Newa area on Friday.

   Police sources told CNS that three persons including the driver of an Alto car (JK01A-3037) were injured when it collided with a Casper vehicle of Army at Newa in the district. The wounded were shifted to SKIMS for advanced treatment, however one of injured Sajid Mushtaq of Kurso Raj Bagh succumbed to his injuries.

 The accident sparked anti-Army protest in the area that disrupted normal life. Reports said that agitated protesters were pacified by police with the assurance that action will be taken against the erring Army driver under law. 

    Doctors attending the injured identified them as Sabir Hasan of Bemina and Adil Maqbool of Bag-e-Mehtab. DSP Headquarter  Pulwama said that the army driver surrounded before the police along with his vehicle. “The vehicle lies in police station and investigation has been started to ascertain the facts,” he said.

    Meanhile, former Minister Public Works and MLA Amirakadal Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari expressed deep shock and grief over the road accident. Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family of Sabir Mushtaq of Kursoo Rajbagh, a bank employee who died in the accident, Bukhari prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. The former minister who is presently on Umrah also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured persons and urged the administration to facilitate all healthcare facilities to them. (CNS)
