Admin launches drive against polythene and illegal profiteers.

Bandipora, April 21: A joint team of the officers of Municipality and Police, headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanie along with Sanitary Inspector Prince Maqbool today conducted a surprise inspection of various markets in Bandipora town.

During the inspection, it was found that most traders are violating various laws. About one quintal polythene bags were seized on the spot. Various footpaths were freed from encroachments during market checking.

During the drive, the vendors, hoteliers and bakery shop owners were directed to display rate lists issued by the competent authority and in case any ingredient is essential to be added in food items, certificate from competent authority/Department as per the standards laid down in food safety Act for adding the same shall be displayed.

Meanwhile, shopkeepers and vendors were warned against encroachments. The transporters including auto drivers were asked to park their vehicles only at parking places.

The general public on the occasion appreciated the act and hoped that the drive will continue in future as well. ADC Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanie said we are trying our level best to make Bandipora polythene free area.
