WE ARE SORRY!

(Muhammad Ulfat Anjan)

Dear Non local guests studying in NIT,
With due regard to your aroused sentiments it is hereby stated with great honour that we, the kashmiri hosts (the common Kashmiries) are highly grateful to you for adding a special charm to the calm air inside the National Institute of Technology by chanting highly respectful and dignified slogans. The videos on social media and the images there speak volumes about your modesty and decency. It is unfortunate that J&K police used force against the peaceful means you resorted to to highlight your genuine demands. We condemn the brutal police action! They should learn lessons from the police officials belonging to other Indian states who are always ready with warm bosoms to address to the problems faced by the Kashmiri students there. There are numberless instances revealing the modest behaviour of the cops outside with kashmiries especially students. They cordially invite them to the respectable stations, offer them comfortable sofas there and serve them with the sweetest stuff they possess. The kashmiri students too give due honour to this cordial hospitality and with immense willingness register their names in the fat registers before leaving the stations so that they can be easily invited the second time if the need arises. The influence of the warm treatment is such that they straightly rush to call their dear ones to tell them about the pleasing tales to please them. Not only the special cops but also the local students there keep their generous hearts lovingly at their guests’ disposal so that no alienation is felt by them in the foreign land. These days many kashmiri students are returning back to their homes with sullen countenances as they least wish to be apart from the loyal hosts. How generous and kind they are to them there, Ah!
The story here in Kashmir is totally different and the NIT issue has fully exposed how wicked the cops here are. Not only the cops but few local students (who represent Kashmir in no way) here too proved themselves as traitors by celebrating the loss of their country’s team in the world T20 match thus answering the cordial hospitality received outside with a shameful act! They should look at their out side hosts to learn the lessons of love and warmth. They shouldn’t have cheered for West Indies and hence proved themselves as traitors by ignoring all the favours of the largest democracy in the world. What have they not done for us? Ask the countless widows, orphans and lone parents how kind the guardians of peace have been to them. To quote a single instance (out of numberless such instances) of their humaneness, the Kunan Poshpora people are yet to forget the great favour done to them by the peace loving guardians and that too in the darkest of night. We too should learn to be grateful to the ones who are there to protect us and thus keep the tradition of winning the hearts of our non-local guests alive.
Dear non-local guests from outside Kashmir, we are sorry for the behaviour of our local policemen as well as that of the few local students for harming your gentle sentiments. All you are doing is just and genuine. You are the true models of nationalism and patriotism for others to follow. We too support all your genuine demands. The NIT has no right to be here with the traitors. Not only the NIT but other reputed institutions should also be shifted from the valley so that our guests are pleased! It is hoped that you would continue these peaceful protests inside the campus with same passion till all your lawful demands are fulfilled. You need not worry as the whole media supports your cause. Don’t pay heed to the few biased Kashmiri news reports as these are least paid heed to by the outside world. The local media here too is corrupt and anti-national! The most reputed dailies, news pages and news channels belonging to your own soil (outside Kashmir) who have been highlighting the miseries faced by the Kashmiries outside always with undue enthusiasm are there to highlight your problems too without prejudices. We salute their honesty, dedication and dynamism. Our media personnel too must learn from them how to serve the society in the truest sense. The time and tide are fully in your favour. Go ahead and make best use of the opportunity. We too are with you and support your cause with full energy and dedication.
Regards
Your loyal Kashmiri hosts
