‘Stores and supplies of Khyber will be withdrawn’

CAPD and DCD have been activated: Asghar Samoon

Srinagar, April 9, CNS: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Asghar Samoon Saturday said that stores and supplies of convicted ‘Khyber’ company will be withdrawn completely all across Kashmir till the company’s dairy products are not cleared by the Referral Laboratory.

He was talking to reporters outside SKICC Srinagar shortly after attending a meeting that was presided by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

Responding to a question, Divisional Commissioner said that in wake of the court directions, the stores and supplies of Khyber will not only be withdrawn but Drug Controller Department and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department will also be fully activated. “These departments will keep an eye on other companies as well. Food Safety Officers have been directed to remain alert and vigilant,” he said.

To a question, Asghar Samoon said that NIT issue has been resolved and everything is normal there. “Class work will start from Monday and those who want to visit home can do the same. There was misunderstanding between two groups and the matter has been amicably resolved,” he said. (CNS)
