Bandipora, April 04: As Monday Dharna continues on Bandipora-Srinagar road, hundreds of students and government employees are stranded in Safapora area of Bandipora district.
The stranded students told Kashmir Convener on phone that the traffic is now being diverted towards Mansbal. He said every Monday they miss their classes as there are frequent dharnas on the road.
Agitated employees accused Deputy Commissioner Bandipora of turning blind eye towards sufferings of the people. “Many times it has been bring in his notice and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has also directed him to ensure smooth traffic but he turns blind eye,” they alleged.
Stranded passengers said Bandipora is the only district were Police never bother to ensure smooth traffic in case of Dharnas. “everywhere Police acts quickly to remove blockade on roads in case of Dharna. But here they act as mute spectators,” they told Kashmir Convener on phone.
