Stage set for Mehbooba’s swearing-in

‘PDP-BJP to finalise list of ministers by tonight
Srinagar, April 3 (KNS): The stage has been set for the oath taking of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti as the 13th chief minister of the state to head her party’s alliance with BJP.
About 1000 political and administrative dignitaries are attending the oath ceremony. The major function will take place at Rajbhavan and will start at 11.00 Monday.
Ahead of the oath taking ceremony, BJP Sunday held two meetings-executive and Core group meeting- both attended by national general secretary Ram Madhav and national vice president Avinash Rai Khanna- to finalise the list of the ministers from the party.
The BJP discussed the government formation and the proving support to Mehbooba Mufti as elected head of the state.
BJP state president Sat Pal Sharma, Madhav and Khanna are scheduled to meet Mehbooba to hand over the final list of the ministers from their quota.
Mehbooba, who flew to Jammu today afternoon, is scheduled to hold a meeting with senior party leaders and MPs, Tariq Hameed Karra and Muzaffar Hussain Baig, to finalise the list of the ministers from the party.
Sources in PDP told KNS that Mehbooba will submit the list of her council of ministers to Governor N N Vohra tonight for and they will take oath as ministers tomorrow.
Sources said that minor changes of ministerial portfolios are expected in the new council of ministers.
Senior leaders and all the legislators of the PDP have reached Jammu to attend the oath ceremony.
Among others, PDP MPs Tariq Hameed Karra, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Syed Altaf Bukhari have reached Jammu to attend the ceremony.
Peoples Conference chairman and MLA Handwara has flow to Jammu for oath taking ceremony.
Meanwhile, Director General of Police K Rajendra reviewed the security arrangements in Jammu on Saturday for oath taking ceremony.
The DGP said that precautionary arrangements would be made to make the ceremony peaceful and secure. (KNS)
