Bandipora, April 01: Nasoo Cricket Club (NCC) Greens lift All-Stars Championship Bandipora on Friday by defeating Star Club Rampora with a huge margin of 136 runs.
Earlier NCC Greens captain Ishfaq Majeed won the all important toss and elected to bat first on a flat track.
NCC Greens after winning the toss scored a mammoth total of 204 runs while losing six wickets in allotted 20 overs.
Irfan Hussain scored an unbeaten 71 not out while Aamir Majeed scored 43. Ashiq Lone scored 41 runs while contributing to record scoring mammoth score.
Waseem was the only successful bowler for Star Sports Club taking two wicket while giving 47 runs.
Chasing the target, Star Sports Club succumbed to the pressure and were bundled for a mere total of 68/10. Mashooq was the highest scorer with 17 runs in his kitty. For NCC Greens Ghulam Nabi Shahid Khan and Ashiq Lone took three wickets each.
Irfan Hussain Khan was adjudged Man of the match for his blistering knock of 71 while as Ashiq Hussain Lone of NCC Greens was declared as the player of the tournament for his consistence all-round performances in the entire tournament.
A total of 38 teams had participated in the 4 month long run tournament. This is the third consecutive time in this year NCC Greens have came up as winners of any local tournament in Bandipora District.
NCC Greens captain Ishfaq Majeed said his team is full of confidence and energy and are looking forward to give their best in the tournaments of other districts in the Kashmir valley.
He said that his team comprises of young talented cricketers who will be recognised by their games when given proper guidance and opportunities to showcase their talent, and for that playing outside Bandipora district is vital to get the exposure and lift the game.
