Stop worrying about aspirations of Kashmiris: BJP to Dulat

‘Separatists like Shabir Shah creation of think tanks’

Srinagar, Mar 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that former bureaucrats should refrain from passing judgments and stop worrying about the aspirations of Kashmiris.
Reacting to the statement of former RAW Chief A S Dulat that “New Delhi doesn’t understand the feelings and emotions of Kashmiris” the BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir in a statement here said, “It’s unfortunate that some people have always projected the feelings, emotions and aspirations of Kashmiris in a wrong way.”
He said, “Aspirations of nationalist Kashmiris have always been ignored and they have never been taken into the account. Nationalist Kashmiris since 1947 have been staunch Indians and would continue to be so till their last breath.”
The BJP spokesman said, “A few people in the past gave undue importance to separatists and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir due to which non-entities have become entities. The policy of Narendra Modi led government is clear separatism and separatists have no place in Indian democracy and Jammu and Kashmir.”
Jehangir said, “Separatists like Shabir Ahmed Shah are the creation of the think tanks, who were entrusted with the job of getting them back into the national mainstream.”
He said, “The PM Modi led government has changed the discourse and it has become clear during the last two years that anti-nationals would be dealt with sternly and no effort would be made to appease them.”
The BJP spokesman said that people of Kashmir are fed up of violence and want to live a peaceful life. “They identify themselves with India and want to prosper like people of other states. BJP and Prime Minister Modi understand the aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir and we are committed to bring peace, prosperity and stability in the region.”
