PDP leaders visit flood affected areas in B’pora

Bandipora Mar 20: To assess the damage caused by the flash floods and incessant rains and express their sympathy Bandipora PDP leaders today visited several areas of Bandipora constituency.

PDP Zone president Bandipora Mohammad Amin Mir and Constituency In charge Inam ul haq visited Sheikh Muqam, Nusoo, Malangham Halmatpora, Watpora, Kema, Chitibandey, Pethkoot and Barzulla areas of Bandipora Constituency to assess the losses caused by flash floods and express solidarity with the affected families.

They were accompanied by othrr party functionaries and office bearers including Sarfarz Prince, Javid Dar, Towseef wani and Irshad Ahmad.
“The leaders also visited Quil and Malangham where 40 sheep and 2 horeses were killed due to flash floods on Fiday night and several houses were inundated,” a party statement said.

The statement said that they have taken up the matter with DC Bandipora also and asked him to shift people to safer areas from where apprehensions of landslides are more.

They urged upon district and divisional administrations to provide immediate relief to the victims and rehabilitate them so that they will not face any hardships.

Taking a dig at incumbent Legislator the leaders in the statement said that he ha failed to represent people of Bandipora as he is nowhere to be seen in this time of emergency arised due to incessant rains here.

The statement said that he reneged on his promises made during elections as he has failed to deliver.

“It is due to the inefficiency of the local legislator that people of Bandipora are made to suffer,” statement added.
