Protest against PDD in Sangramma

Sopore March 19: The inhabitants of Sangrama Block in North Kashmir’s Sopore Town in Baramullah district took to streets and blocked Sopore-Srinagar National  Highway against the non-repairing of power transformer.

“Couple of days back we approached concern authority Power Development Department (PDD)  to repair the damaged transformer since then we residents of Sangrama are reeling under darkness,” said Younis Ahmad a local resident.

The protesters chanting slogans against PDD and were demanding restoration of power supply as soon as possible.

The protesters said they been demanding repair of damaged transformer several times in the locality but nobody paid heed and forced us to come to streets locals alleged. Protesters warned that if their demands would not be fulfilled within few days  they would intensify the agitation against PDD.
