Srinagar | Mar 17 (PTK): A drug store was closed down by the authorities in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on evening for allegedly selling expired medicines.
The co-operative drug store located in front of the office of Block Medical Officer (BMO) in the premises of sub-district hospital Bandipora was closed after complaints by locals that expired medicine was being sold at the shop.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora Masrat Hashim accompanied by Magistrate Murtaza Rashid Mir on Wednesdayevening paid a surprise visit to the hospital and allegedly found the owner of Co-operatives Drug store selling expired medicines, said an official.
Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Mushtaq said the drug store was closed by the district authorities after the owner was found selling expired medicines.
He said health department had nothing to do with the shop as it belonged to Co-operative department. (PTK)
