Srinagar, Mar 11 : Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit, Deputy High Commissioner Abdullah Nizamani and many other officials of the High Commission office Friday came to Max Hospital to enquire about the health condition of Geelani and on the occasion they prayed for the speedy recovery for Geelani.

Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that prior to this visit, a special prayer meeting was held at High Commission office at New Delhi before the Friday congregational prayers which was attended by Abdul Basit, Abdullah Nizamani, Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Raja Mehraj-ud-din and all other officials and staff members of the commission office.
While terming the Geelani as the symbol of freedom struggle of Kashmir and well-wisher of Pakistan, the Deputy High Commissioner on the occasion said that the entire Pakistan nation is praying for his good health and are very concerned about his health.
The special prayer meeting at the Pakistan High Commission office was attended by more than a hundred people and the prayer meeting turned very emotional and touching with regarding to the Syed Ali Geelani’s health.
High Commissioner Abdul Basit told Hurriyat team that Prime Minister Pakistan Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif who is currently in Saudi Arabia called me over phone and asked about the health condition of Geelani.
While expressing his best wishes for Syed Ali Geelani, the Prime Minister ordered me to remain in continuous touch with the attendants of Syed Ali Geelani and inform me accordingly.
Meanwhile terming the statement of Omer Abdullah regarding Geelani as frustration of his mind in which he had said that “he had supported Janata Party and Morarjy Desai and he was not always a pro-freedom person”, the Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that the life of Syed Ali Geelani is like a open book and besides Kashmiri nation, he is known to the whole world for his stand.
He had spent his last 50 years in acute opposition of the Indian forced occupation in Kashmir and for this he had spent most part of his life in the different jails of India.
