‘Ensure their postings in hospitals within 10 days’
Srinagar, March 9: High Court has directed government to relieve all the doctors, who have completed their tenures at different posts in medical colleges and ensure their postings in hospitals within 10 days.
A single bench of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey said the heads of the medical colleges/ institutions should not wait for further orders from the court regarding relieving the doctors.
“It shall be incumbent upon them to relieve all the doctors, who have completed their tenure of registrarship/ Demonstratorship/ senior Residenc, etc,” the court said.
It also directed Commissioner Secretary to Government, Health and Medical Education Department to ensure postings of all such doctors within 10 days.
The court also sought details of all the doctors of Department of Health, who are presently on deputation outside Health Department
The directions were passed after the government through its counsel told the court that they can’t depute further doctors for different posts in these colleges as a big slot of doctors is not available in Health department on account of their deputations.
Justice Magrey directed the government to present details of all those doctors with their status and position, who are presently on deputation outside Health Department.

Govt to refer posts of sacked docs to recruiting agency
Srinagar, March 9: The government Wednesday the vacancies created after terminating services of 100 doctors recently will be referred to the to the recruiting agencies.
Commissioner Secretary to Government, Health and Medical Education Department told the high court that government has terminated services of 100 medical officers/ consultants who were on unauthorised absence from duty.
He said the posts, which have fallen vacant, shall be referred to Services Commission/ Recruiting Agency to be filled up in accordance with rules.
The court had earlier sought personal appearance of the Commissioner Secretary Health regarding absence of doctors from duties.
On Wednesday, the official personally appeared before the court and informed the bench that 100 unauthorisedly absent doctors have been terminated by the government.
