One militant, two army commandos killed in ongoing Pampore attack

Pulwama, Feb 21 (KNS): One militant, two PARA commandos were killed Sunday in the ongoing encounter in JKEDI building at Sempora in Pampore, taking the toll to seven.
CRPF spokesman, Commandant Bhavesh Choudhary told KNS that the security forces have recovered the body of one militant from the building.
“We have recovered one body from the building so far. The operation by security forces is ongoing,” he said.
He said that another Captain of 9 PARA commandoes, Tushar Mahajan, was killed inside the building while fighting with militants.
With the killing of a militant, three PARA commandoes, two CRPF troopers and one civilian, the death toll in an ongoing Pampore encounter has reached to seven.
The encounter is going on when this report was filed.
Army today used camera-laden Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to locate the position of the militants inside the multi-storeyed Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI).
The encounter between forces and militants started on Saturday evening in which two PARA commandoes, two CRPF personnel and a civilian were killed while thirteen CRPF men were injured, one of them critically after the militants attacked CRPF convoy on Srinagar-Jammu Highway at JKEDI building in Pampore in southern Pulwama district.
