If you have grievances, come to court

Srinagar, February 04: High court has castigated the teacher’s community for frequent protests on streets observing that it will have negative impact on students.

Expressing concern over the street protests by teachers, a single bench of justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar said in  presence of courts, protests are not the way to get the grievances redressed , “This is not the way to get grievances redressed. What will be the impact of this act on the students? If they (Teachers) have any grievance, they have remedy to come to the court of law,” bench observed.

Bench observed while hearing a petition by JK ReTs Forum seeking revocation of screening test alleging that Department of Education has wrongly interpreted the order of court regarding screening test.

“You go by the judgment in letter and spirit as whatever is contained in the judgment and classify these degrees”, Justice MH Attar observed.

The court directed Counsel for department of Education Mehfooz Nazki to seek instruction about the screening test as such deferred the hearing for tomorrow.

Petitioners submitted before the court that the direction of the court regarding screening test is not applied to all teachers but to a certain class of teachers who have obtained their degrees from the institutions which are not recognized.

They prayed to stay the screening test and also prayed for direction to the state not to give effect to the impugned order so far
