Indian govt wants to eliminate Geelani Israeli way: Hurriyat (G)

Appeals HR groups to take notice of continuous imprisonment

Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNS): Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani despite being unwell continued to remain under the house detention and today on 22 January he was once again unable to perform the Friday prayers like important religious obligation.
The process of this illegal house detention started in 2010 and is continue in 2016 and the government is silent that how long will this extraordinary type of imprisonment continue.
While strongly condemned the imprisonment of 86 years old pro-freedom leader, Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that the main and big reason of the ill health of Syed Ali Geelani is his continuous confinement in his house and by this way the government want to eliminate him in a slow death.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that the Indian government exactly follow the foot prints of Israel government and they want to eliminate Syed Ali Geelani just like the Palestine leader Yasir Arafat was killed but they don’t want to take the blame. That is why the government hasn’t produced any written order with regarding to the house imprisonment of Syed Ali Geelani since last 5 years and the government officials sometimes does not even hesitate in telling the white lie that Syed Ali Geelani is a “Free Man” and he is not under the house imprisonment.
According to the Hurriyat (G) spokesman, the prominent doctors have also expressed their opinion that the restriction over the movements of Syed Ali Geelani is taking heavy toll on his health condition and the continuous confinement in the four walls of his house is making him weak day by day and the Immune System of his body is also being badly affected by this.
Hurriyat (G) Spokesman said that this opinion of the doctors have been published by some prominent news papers which generated a hope that the government will end the house imprisonment process of Syed Ali Geelani and the police force deployed at his residence will be removed but nothing like that happened and despite being ill from last two weeks, Syed Ali Geelani continued to remain under the detention and instead of removal of police force from his residence, the authorities have increased the deployment of the forces. No government or the police official has explained that why the police are not being removed and why is it being further increased.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman cautioned that God forbid anything untoward with Syed Ali Geelani, will have serious consequences and all its responsibility will be on Indian government, their local agents and the Jammu and Kashmir police who all are responsible for the illegal detention of the Syed Ali Geelani.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman appealed the local and international human rights organization to take serious notice of the continuous imprisonment of the ailing Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Geelani and put pressure on Indian government that they should stop playing with the life of the Kashmiri Pro-freedom leader and end his illegal detention so that he can live in free atmosphere and can have a proper medical treatment.
Meanwhile people at Panthachowk Srinagar held peaceful protest demonstration after the Friday congregational prayers against the slapping of black law PSA on Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Mehraj-ud-din Rubanni who used to led the Friday prayers at Panthachowk Jamia Masjid. (KNS)
