People appeal officials to take action against fake news groups, Will investigate it: IGP
Srinagar, Jan 17 (KNS): Terming the speedy spreading reports over pulse polio immunization as baseless, top health as well as administrative officials Sunday appealed people to don’t pay heed over such things.
The officials including Principal Government Medical College (GMC), Dr Kaisar, Chief Medical Officer CMO Anantnag, Fazil Kochak, Deputy Commissioner DC Anantnag, Muneer-ul -Islam, Additional DC Kulgam, Mushtaq Ahmad while talking to KNS over phone said that no death of vaccinated children has been reported. “All the children visiting the hospital are normal. Nothing negative has been found among them,” they said.
They further said that the people should not pay heed over the rumors. “We appeal people to ignore such kind of rumors. Some elements are trying to create hue and cry among the local people, which should be ignored as everything is alright,” they said.
Reports reached to KNS from several districts of the Valley that the families along with their children are visiting the hospital in ever-lasting numbers where doctors look them.
Nonetheless, Dr Kasiar, GMC Principal said, “I am personally looking the children visiting SMHS hospital for their check-up and nothing unenthusiastic has been found among them while every child is safe.”
According to the reports, Director Health, Sameer Koul has said that strict action would be taken against the person spreading rumors over pulse polio immunization.
KNS received several phone calls from the local people across the Valley who castigated the fake news groups saying they are misleading the people in general over several issues and the authorities should take strong note against them.
“Such fake news groups as well as portals have and are misleading us over several issues. Authorities should point the groups who are flashing baseless news and the person involved in it should be death with strictly at earliest,” Callers told KNS.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Javaid Mujtaba Gilani while talking to KNS said that they will investigate the matter at earliest and the person involved in it will be dealt with strictly.
“I assure the people of speedy investigation into it and strict action will be taken against the person spreading rumors over social networking sites including Facebook and Whatsapp,” IGP said. (KNS)
