Army contributes welfare activities on army day

Distributes Equipment physiotherapy, hot, cold weather appliances

Srinagar, Jan 15 (KNS): To commemorate 68th Army Day a series of initiatives and welfare activities towards Kashmiri Awaam was carried out by the Chinar Corps in last few days, spreading all across the Valley. Jawan and Awaam actively participated in the welfare activities to honour the gallant soldiers of the Army who made supreme sacrifice for the country.
A local Rashtriya Rifles unit under the aegis of Chinar Corps donated a variety of equipment for the rehabilitation of sixty especially abled Children of ‘Chotay Taray’ centre for especially abled children at Bagat Bazula, Srinagar under Project Sadbhavana.
In the function, equipment related with physiotherapy, hot and cold weather appliances, vocational training material and teaching aids were distributed among the children with an aim to provide assistance in their daily functioning. Army in its outreach programme has initiated various such events in the fulfillment of the aspiration of especially abled children.
The effort of army was widely lauded by the local populace and civil administration. Arajmand Makhdoomi, President Chotay Taray Foundation appreciated the efforts of Army and stated “This uplift in the infrastructure and basic need at the foundation will further help in the rehabilitation of specially-abled children residing in the foundation and help them in getting admissions in good schools in future”. He further added Indian Army has continuously endeavored to look after the progress and well being of needy children of Valley. This holistic approach towards the rehabilitation of specially-abled children will provide impetus in their overall development and necessity. The parents present at the occasion have urged to continue such type of welfare measure which would bring a firm bonding between the Army and Awaam. (KNS)
