The stranded passengers in Gurez Valley and Bandipora can reach their destinations using Kishanganga Hydroelectric Project Tunnel on sundays.This decision was taken after a higl level meeting between District administration Bandipora and HCC authorities in bandipora today.The movement passes can be had from DC office Bandipora and SDM office Dhaver Gurez.
Gurez remain cut off from the kashmir valley for whole winter leading to extreme hardships and miseries for the local population. The road leading to Gurez from bandipora is 90KMS and maintained by BRO gets closed due to heavy snowfall on Razdhan top in early winter.
People have been demanding all weather road connectivity to Gurez by constructing a tunnel.Mohammad Aamir Lone,a resident of Gurez said that at least Srinagar to Gurez road should be notified as National Highway so that connectivity can get improved to this area.
