‘Society’ used unemployed youth to swindle money’

Victims appeal Vigilance to nab Director

Srinagar, Dec 21, CNS: Scores of unemployed youth while accusing a ‘registered’ Society of fraud and deceit said that the Society Director used them as Field Officers to grab money from naïve people in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Scores of youth along with documents appeared in Press Enclave on Monday morning. They said  they worked as Field Officers for a Society called J&K Rural Development Co-ordinate Society in Budgam district. “This Society claimed to be an associated partner of Bajaj Allianz, asked us to collect Rs 500 each from every house owner in lieu of so called insurance policy they provide to fire and earthquake victims. We went on approaching and collecting cash from the naïve house owners. We collected near about Rs half a crore and handed over to a female Team Field Officer Adil Ahmed Khan, who is from Bemina and she handed it over to Society Director (name withheld). This Society used us to swindle money from people. Now those people are after us and they have lodged multiple FIR’s against us. Please save. We worked for him just because he promised us to give salary in five digits,” the protesting youth told CNS.

They alleged that director J&K Rural Development Co-ordinate Society used us to grab money from villagers of Budgam. “We continuously try to contact or call him but all in vain. We appeal Vigilance organization to take cognizance of the case and initiate inquiry against the Director of the so called Society,” they said.

They said that J&K Rural Development Co-ordinate Society has been established to mint money from the naïve people. “We have done nothing wrong. Why police is after us. Police should nab the Director of Society,” they questioned.

Despite repeated attempts Director J&K Rural Development Co-ordinate Society Adil Khan could not be contacted. (CNS)
