Sagar demands magisterial probe
Srinagar, Dec 21, CNS: A day after a member of the Village Defence Committee (VDC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir allegedly killed National Conference (NC) youth leader Ishtyaq Ahmed, NC General Secretary and legislator Ali Muhammad Sagar said that the incident is ample to prove a conspiracy is hatched to kill and suppress National Conference cadres in Chenab Valley. He said that present state government has been giving a free hand to unbridled VDC members to suppress and oppress innocent people.
Sagar told CNS that the killing of National Conference youth leader has broken the myth that people are safe and secure under PDP leg government. “We demand a judicial probe into the incident and want to know why the VDC member was doing with the weapon in hand. It is the responsibility of the government to disarm all those VDC members who indulge in crimes,” he said.
He said that VDC members have become a threat to the life and property of the people. “The deceased was the sole bread earner of his family. National Conference not only demand a time bound magisterial probe into the incident but also urge upon the government to provide an exgratia of Rs 50 lakhs to the next of kin of the deceased National Conference leader,” he said.
