Bandipora, Nov 10: Employees on Tuesday gathered in strength here in North Kashmir Bandipora district to press for the implementation of Court order regarding reservation.
Protesting under the banner of “Jammu and Kashmir Open Category Employees Union” employees, parents and students staged a protest, gathered in Nishat Park and marched in a rally towards Gulshan Chowk where from they visited Deputy Commissioner’s office and submitted memorandum seeking government to implement court order regarding reservation or face agitation.
Strengthening the ‘anti-reservation’ protest Traders and transporters extended their support by going on a token strike for an hour to express solidarity with the protesters.
The protests also got a boost as traders and Transporters decided to join and threatened to shut shops and halt public transport if the government failed to implement the court order reservation.
Trade Union Leaders, members of Civil Society, Parents and Students while addressing the protesting public launched a scathing attack on the BJP-PDP government, accusing them of keeping side of the few political leaders who are playing politics in the name of reservation.
“We will not allow vote ban politics in the name of reservation which is fatal to majority of states public” Speakers said. “Let government implement the order or face agitation”
