‘Presence of Bihari’s was annoying’
Srinagar, Nov 6, CNS: Despite repeated appeals and requests from PDP Parliament member Tariq Hameed Kara to Srinagar people not to attend Modi’s rally, a good number of PDP supporters from different parts of Srinagar city participated in the rally.
Well placed sources in PDP informed CNS that party was expecting lesser participation from Srinagar city, but due to the efforts put by Syed Altaf Bukhari and Muhammad Khurshid Aalam, a good number of people arrived at SK Stadium to attend Modi’s rally.
A top PDP leader told CNS on condition of anonymity that party high command had requested Tariq Hameed Karra to desist from asking people not to attend Modi’s rally, however, despite that Karra went to Batamaloo, Khanyar, Lawaypora, HMT and other areas and asked people not to attend Modi’s rally. “Karra even used his trusted supporters to foil Modi’s rally,” he said.
The leader added that PDP managed to save its face due to efforts made by Bukhari and Aalam. “Large number of people from Khanyar, Hazratbal, Batamaloo and Amirakadal constituencies participated in the rally,” he said but added that the presence of non-local labourers in the rally was annoying and it was BJP that had brought them in the Stadium.
