Srinagar, Nov 2: National Service Scheme (NSS) of the University of Kashmir on Monday held an outreach programme at Tangdar Degree College.
Coordinator NSS, Prof Nilofar Khan, said the programme titled ‘Not me, but you’ aimed at bringing more inclusiveness in activities of the NSS and have special focus on far-off areas like Tangdar and Teetwal.
Students, teachers and civil society members from the area participated in the outreach programme and hailed the initiative.
MLA Tangdar, Raja Manzoor, was special guest on the occasion.
A ‘youth parliament’ was held on the occasion where thorough deliberations were held for chalking-out ways of people’s participation in the socio-economic development of the state.
A lecture on the theme ‘Inaugurating a new dawn: Sensitizing border youth towards local challenges’ was also delivered to highlight significance of participation of youth in engaging with socio-economic challenges at grassroots.
Apart from NSS Coordinator Prof Nilofar Khan, Programme Officer Er Kaiser Rashid and other officials of NSS, Principal Govt Degree College Tangdar, Prof H G Mustafa, conducted the programme. A similar programme will be held at Teetwal on Tuesday.
