While strongly condemning the government actions, Syed Ali Geelani said that we are not scared of arrests and restrictions and we will continue with our “Million March” program come what may.
Syed Ali Geelani said that the arrests and crackdown on the pro-freedom people is the result of the directions of the Indian Home Ministry in which they have passed directions to their local agents in Kashmir to keep close vigil at the movements of the pro-freedom people. He said that these types of directions and actions prove that the Indian government and their agents in Kashmir had virtually accepted their defeat and they are scared of facing the pro-freedom leadership of Kashmir on democratic front. India had never honored the wishes and sentiments of the Kashmiri people and had always tried to quell the every peaceful voice of Kashmir which is raised against their illegal and forced occupation.
Syed Ali Geelani said that despite the strict restrictions, arrests, raids and other oppressive measures, our Million March program will definitely take its practical shape in any way and preparation with this regard are at its peak. While terming the proposed “Million March” a historic occasion,
Syed Ali Geelani appealed all the pro-freedom people to work for the success of this program and come out in huge numbers from every village, town and city of the state to send a clear and strong message to the world that the Kashmiris will never give-up their demand for plebiscites and they will accept nothing less than complete freedom.
Syed Ali Geelani appealed the people especially the youths who are going to take part in the Million March program on 7th November to remain peaceful and show extreme spirit of discipline on that day. While issuing directions to the general public, Hurriyat Chairman further said that the people should strictly follow the guidelines and program of the leadership and don’t let the evil and wicked designs of India to succeed.
Meanwhile Syed Ali Geelani strongly condemned the stripping of cloths of youths and subjecting them to sever custodial torture in Shargarh police station and said that the police and administration is pushing the youths to the walls and instead of peaceful means, they are forced to adopt other options of resistance.
