MLA B’pora protests unscheduled power cuts in B’poracalls for rationalization of electricity
Srinagar, October 10: MLA Bandipora Usman Majid saturday staged walk out from the assembly protesting against the unscheduled power cuts in Bandipora constituency.
During question hour, Majid raised supplementary question camplaing about the unscheduled power cuts. Replying to the question MoS Mohammad Ashraf Mir told the house that the unscheduled power cuts are being done only in non-metrered areas.
This infuriarated the legislator saying the minister is providing wrong information to the house. He said from one month Bandipora is facing severe problems owing to unscheduled power cuts in the district.
He said not only the un- metered areas are also facing problems of the erratic supply.
Not satisfied with the minister’s reply, Majid staged walk out from the assembly. Later during calling attention session legislator again raised the issue. He further complained about the delay in completion of grid station in the district. He said the construction of grid station is going on from past many years and demanded that the works should be expedited.
The legislator said government should take the work on priority and also work for the rationalization of the power supply in Bandipora. He said till date there are dozens of villages which are yet to be electrified. He said government need to rationalize the power system besides completing the work on the grid station in Bandipora.
