Srinagar, Oct 07: The BJP- PDP legislators Wednesday created uproar in the Legislative Assembly over the absence of some ministers during the Zero Hour.

The legislators of the ruling parties stood up from their seats and demanded adjournment of the House on the absence of the ministers in the house.

As the Zero Hour started, all the ministers barring Abdul Majid Padroo left the Legislative Assembly that triggered protest by the MLAs who demanded answers to their questions.

“It is not a drama going on here in the House. Who will answer our questions?  Whom will we ask our queries and raise our concerns related to our constituencies,” PDP legislator from Rafiabad Yawar Mir said while seeking adjournment of the House.

Echoing similar concerns another PDP legislator Muhammad Khalil Bandh also raised question over the absence of the ministers.

“We are raising our important public issues where we need the government’s response on priority but there is no one to reply us,” he said.

He said that absence of ministers shows their non- seriousness towards public grievances.

“Where are these ministers? How can they leave the house without answering our questions? I had asked several question but not a single reply has come to any of my questions so far,” BJP legislator from Jammu province, Ravinder Raina, said.

Meanwhile, Minister of state for Irrigation and Flood Control Abdul Majid Padroo who tried to pacify the protesting legislators said, “I can reply to your queries. You need not to create commotion in the House since all your concerns that you raise here are being recorded.”

He urged the protesting legislators to sit on their seats and not to create uproar in the house as he said that ministers were busy in the upper house.

However, legislators from both ruling parties cornered Padroo and demanded reply to their questions from the concerned ministers.
