Srinagar, October 05 Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Abdul Majid Padder said that I&FC department has got vacated 925 kanals of land on the backs of river Tawi in Jammu at various places through anti-encroachment drive.
The Minister said this while replying to a question by Mr. Ashok Khajuria in the Legislative Council today. The Minister said that the complete details of land encroached on the banks of river Tawi are being compiled by the Revenue Department. The Minister further said that to vacate such land from encroachers an anti-encroachment drive has been launched in the light of J&K Water Resources (Regulatory and Management Act-2010) & Rules 2011.
