20 vehicles blacklisted, 09 bikes seized, 04 route permits suspended for road safety violations

Bandipora, 23 Feb: Acting tough against the traffic law violators, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Bandipora Bilal Ahmad today blacklisted as many as 20 vehicles, Seized 09 motorcycles, suspended 04 route permits and 2 driving licenses for violations against traffic rule and road safety violations.

A checking, enforcement team led by ARTO conducted day-long checking of vehicles in Nadihal, Nusoo & Papchan areas of Bandipora and during the drive more than 60 vehicles were checked for traffic rule/road safety violations.

During the drive, as many as 20 vehicles were blacklisted on the spot, while 09 bikes seized, 2 driving licenses and 04 route permits were processed for suspension.

Documents of 19 vehicles were retained for further processing under the provisions of MV Act 1988 and rules framed thereunder.

An amount of Rs. 35000 as fine is also expected to be realized from offending vehicles/drivers.

The ARTO said that drive shall continue in Towns and Rural areas of the district and strict action as per the law shall be taken against the erring drivers for road safety violations.
