Bandipora, 17 April: Clashes erupt between students of Degree College Bandipora and govt forces after police foiled the protest march of students on Wednesday.
Witnesses said that police resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the protesting students, triggering clashes in the area. Earlier the students boycotted their classes and assembled inside the college premises to stage protest against the Kathua minor girl’s rape and murder.
The protesting students were demanding justice for 8 yr old girl and capital punishment for culprits.
Amid pro-freedom and anti-India sloganeering, the students tried to march towards the main market but the forces didn’t allow them to move forward thereby triggering clashes.
