Concerned Civil Society demands thorough Probe

Bandipora, Feb 03: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has attached 17 employees of the department in district Bandipora after Kashmir Convener exposed fake GP Fund accounts scandal appearing to be a fake recruitment scandal.
In pursuance to report carried by Kashmir Convener and other news agencies, Director Health Services Kashmir attached 20 employees vide order No. 104/NG of 2018 Dated: 02-02-2018. The employees include 4 employees of CMO office Bandipora, six each from Hajan and Bandipora Block and four of Gurez block.
Four employees of CMO office Bandipora include Junior Assistant Shafeeqa, Senior Assistant, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Parsee, Head X Ray Tech, Mohammad Rafiq Nasir and Head Pharmacist, Mohammad Iqbal lone.
The six employees of Block Medical Office Hajin include BMO Hajin Dr Tariq Hassan, Two Senior Assistants, Sajad Hussain and Ali Mohammad Shalbaf, Two Junior Assistants Abdul Majeed Bhat and Masooda Begum and Health Inspector Mohammad Yousuf.
The six officials of Bandipora Block BMO Dr. Syed-ur-Rehman, Nodal Officer, Dr. Masrat Iqbal, Senior Theatre technician, Fayaz Ahmad and three Junior Assistants, Nazir Ahmad, Javeeda Begum and Mohammad Ayoub Lone and four Employees of Gurez block Including BMO Gurez Dr. Tahira Nazir, Senior Assistant, Mohammad Yaqoob Nasir, Pharmacist, Mohammad Yaseen and Junior Assistant Farooq Ahmad.
However, the attachment order was modified within few hours, thereby cancelling the attachment order of three BMOs. However, they were asked to extend full cooperation to enquiry Committee. Sources said the BMOs were asked to continue their services at their places of postings just to avoid the chaos in the administration in Bandipora hospitals across the district following their attachment.
“In partial modification to this office order No:104/NG of 2018 Dated:-02-02-2018 issued under endorsement No:-Est-5/NG-719/296-323 Dated:-02/02/2018,the Block Medical Officer’s Viz. Bandipora, Hajin and Gurez shall continue to work their present place of Postings, reads the order.
Earlier, Kashmir Convener carried a story titled “Another Scandal Surfaced in Bandipora, 129 GP Fund accounts found fake in health department” after which DHSK attached 20 of its employees posted in Bandipora district.
129 GP Fund subscriptions including 86 from Gurez Block, 26 from Bandipora Block and 17 from Hajin block were found fake after the investigation by Local Fund office. The subscriptions of these employees according to sources were made from last 20 years that are recruited in violation of norms.
The fake GP Fund subscription numbers were allegedly generated by few officials in CMO office Bandipora to accommodate a huge chunk of employees illegally recruited in violation of norms during the last few years in the Health Department across the district.
Earlier Fund Office Bandipora communicated the Health Department to stop the monthly contribution towards GP Fund of the employees in question. The Directorate of Health services Kashmir has also directed to withheld the salaries of CMO Bandipora, BMO’s of Hajin, Gurez and Bandipora besides 129 employees whose accounts were found fake.
Meanwhile, Civil Society Bandipora demanded to set up high level judicial committee to probe the scandals unearthed by Media, “ A high level judicial committee should be constituted to investigate the scams thoroughly as health sector in Bandipora has become hub of Corruption , they said.
Locals said that from last one year media has exposed many scandals in Bandipora hospitals and it is duty of higher authorities to take cognizance of the reports and punish involved employees strictly so that a good message can be sent.
