JKLF chief shifted to Srinagar’s central jail
Srinagar, Jan 19 (KNS): Days ahead of Jan 26, the authorities on Friday detained scores of pro-freedom leaders and lodged them in the Police Stations.
According to the Hurriyat leaders, scores of pro-freedom leaders including Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik senior separatist leader and Chairman of Muslim Conference Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat and Hurriyat Conference (G) Chief Spokesperson and Chairman of Tehreek Insaf Party, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar were today detained by the authorities at different places.
Malik along with scores of his amalgam members protested today at Maisuma against the Army Chief Bipin Rawat’s statement during which Police detained him.
The JKLF leaders informed Kashmir News Service (KNS) that Malik was later shifted to Srinagar’s central jail.
Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat as per the statement issued to KNS was detained by police at Kupwara, when he was travelling along with Musadiq Asdil and Khalil Mohammad to address people at Jamia Masjid Trehgam.
Condemning Prof. Gani’s detention, Muslim Conference Spokesman said that he has been kept at JIC Kupwara.
Spokesman termed Prof Gani’s detention as ‘undemocratic’.
Meanwhile, Chief spokesperson of Hurriyat Conference (G) and Chairman of Tehreek Insaf Party, G A Gulzar was also detained by the authorities and was lodged at Police Station. (KNS)
