Demise of Muneer-ul-Islam’s brother widely condoled

Srinagar, Dec 12, CNS: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and others have condoled the demise of Khawaja Abdul Mateen (53), elder brother of Muneer-ul-Islam, Director Information & Public Relations.

Abdul Mateen, a former employee of Centaur Lake View Hotel and a former student leader, passed away at SKIMS Soura on Tuesday after brief illness. He is survived by wife and two kids.

Born at Nathipora, Dooru in district Anantnag, Abdul Mateen did his LLB from Kashmir University in 1992. He was the president of Kashmir University Students Union during early 1990s. After serving for some time in Centaur Lake View Hotel, Mateen took voluntary retirement in 2007.

    Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has condoled with Director Information, Muneer ul Islam over the demise of his brother.    He prayed for peace to the departed soul and sympathized with the bereaved family.

    Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services Officers Association today condoled the demise of Khawaja Abdul Mateen, the elder brother of Muneer-ul-Islam, Director, Information and Public Relations. A condolence meeting chaired by President Tassaduq Hussain Mir was convened in which participants expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

    Jammu Kashmir Editors Association led by Rasheed Rahi while condoling the demise expressed sympathies with the Director Information and prayed for the departed soul.

   Federation of Urdu working Journalists (FOUWJ) while paying tributes to brother of Director Information Muneer ul Islam, Late Abdul Muteen who passed away on Tuesday said that “He was legend par excellence and his contribution for social works and towards suppressed students and employees is a shining part of our history”.

Recalling services of Late Mateen Sahab in a statement Federation said he was very affectionate and noble soul, who did not compromise on his principles.

Federation members held condolence meet on the occasion and prayed for the departed sol. They also prayed that Almighty will give patience to his family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, Federation of Urdu working Journalists (FOUWJ) expressed grief over the demise of maternal uncle of Kashmir Uzma reporter Parviaz Ahmed and extended condolences with the grieved family.  (CNS)
