Army unit interacts with students, parents in B’Pora villages

Aragam (Bandipora) August 29: Army on Tuesday conducted an event under banner, "Umeed: A ray of hope for better tomorrow" in a far flung area of village Aragam of North Kashmir's Bandipora district and interacted with locals including students and parents.

 

 

Officer in-charge of 13th RR also distributed educational material among 60 school children from class 1st to 10th of Aragam and adjoining villages. The educational kit included bags, books, geometry box’s, drawing books and crayons. Officials said the aim of the event was to meet the academic requirements of the under privileged students thus ensuring quality education. The focus was on children from economically backward families who are not able to pay fee and unavailability of school supplies being the primary reasons for their  absenteeism and dropouts.

A small lunch was also organised for the children and they thoroughly enjoyed the sumptuous meal.

Officials further stated that the senior citizens witnessed the event who shared their thoughts and praises the effort of Army and wishes that army continue its effort and refurbish its ongoing efforts for development of society and children.
