Army organises ‘Run for Fun’ in Baramulla

Baramulla, May 19: A 'RUN FOR FUN' competition was organised today at Chandusa, Baramulla, by the Army Camp based at Uplona, Baramulla. 

An official said 200 students of 8 different schools in the neighbourhood participated with great enthusiasm, vigour and zeal. "The competition witnessed an unprecedented response from the local populace, who turned up in large numbers to cheer for the runners and even motivated them with words of encouragement," he said.

" This notable initiative undertaken by the Army with an aim to encourage the youth to take active part in sports and to build a better rapport and sense of cohesiveness between the Security Forces and the Awaam was a tremendous success, " he added.

The event culminated with the prize distribution ceremony in which all the winners were given medals and trophies by  MLA Javeed Hasan Beigh. This was indeed a step in the right direction towards shaping a better future for the youth of the region.
