Bandipora, May 10: Hundreds of youth today participated in a police recruitment drive held in the Bandipora district of North Kashmir.
Both girls and boys turned up for physical tests for 150 posts in the Jammu and Kashmir police which will conclude on Thursday.
A large number of security forces were deployed in strength to ensure smooth conduct of the recruitment.
The drive saw participation by more than 1300 boys and girls, who attended the recruitment test for the post of approximately 150 constables in the district today.
The rally hopes to drive employment among the youth in the valley as the region has been facing a lot of issues due to unemployment.
The recruitment process will continue till Thursday in Bandipora district and about 3000 youths have applied for the constable post and with around more than 1 lakh people having applied for the posts from all across the state.
"JKP has been adopting latest technology to ensure a transparent recruitment. The department in collaboration with a Private Agency has been conducting the required tests and process is recorded through CCTV Cameras and other equipments to avoid any discrepancy,” said DIG Nisar Ahmad.
He said the result of the tests is prepared and announced on the spot, he asked the candidates not to fall prey to any tout as the whole process is conducted in a highly transparent manner with the help of latest gadgets and here is no scope for any human interference.
He said that written test will also be conducted in a transparent manner and the selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in that test.
The female participation is not satisfying as compared to other districts, only 45 girls have applied for the posts in the district, DIG, Nisar Ahmad added.
