Parts of South Kashmir observe shutdown to mourn militant, civilian killings

Kulgam, Feb 14, CNS: Parts of South Kashmir observed spontaneous shutdown for the consecutive 2nd day against the militant and civilian killings. The shutdown was observed in Kulgam district and Tral sub-division.

   Four militants and two civilians were killed on Sunday during a gunfight in Frisal village of Kulgam and clashes that followed it.

    Eyewitnesses told news agency CNS that all the shops and business establishments remained shut while skeletal movement of traffic was seen on the roads.

     Witnesses added that groups of youth pelted stones on the private vehicles near bus stand Tral resulting in the disappearance of transport from the roads. (CNS)
