Govt focused on upgrading education facilities: Lal Singh
KATHUA, DECEMBER 17: Delhi Public School (DPS), Rajbagh, today celebrated its annual day-cum-prize distribution ceremony in which Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings & Science and Technology, Sajad Gani Lone was the chief guest.
Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education & Youth Services and Sports, Imran Raza Ansari and Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Choudhary Lal Singh were the guests of honour.
The theme of the function was ‘Symphony of Body and Mind’ wherein different programmes reflecting the ways of bringing in harmony in routine activities for leading a peaceful life were presented.
Legislators Bashir Ahmad Dar and Kuldeep Raj, PCCF AK Singh, CCF Roshan Jaggi, Chairman PCB Ravi Kesar, Chief Wildlife Warden Suresh Chug, IGP, J P Singh, DC Kathua Ramesh Kumar and DIG BSF were among others present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sajad Lone appreciated the school management, staff and students for their achievements and said that setting up of such a prestigious institution in a rural area is really a great service towards the cause of society. He said schools are revered as a sacred place in the society in view of their role in shaping the future of the nation and it must be our prime concern to impart quality education to students besides promoting ethical values among them.
Lal Singh, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the measures being taken up by the Government to promote all parameters of education for overall development of the students. He said it is firm commitment of the government to ensure that this vital sector gets a fillip in all its aspects as it forms the basis of a strong nation. He exhorted upon the school authorities to make sure that their institution serves as a vibrant center of excellence. He added that the education sector is being prioritized for its promotion in all respects.
Chairman of the school, Ram Avtar Aggarwal, Kush Aggarwal, Principal alongwith other members of the committee besides students and their parents attended the function.
Principal, Nirmal Mahna presented the annual report highlighting the achievements of the current academic session.
Later, the Ministers gave away the academic prizes, scholar badges and prizes to the meritorious students.
