Calls an emergency meeting
Srinagar, June 19 (KNS): Kashmir Press Photographers Association (KPPA) Sunday called an emergency meeting of all photojournalists of Kashmir in which it serious note was taken about the assault on photojournalist, Farooq Shah and his family members by SHO Humhama and his team Saturday evening.
According to a statement issued to KNS, condemning the murderous assault on the photojournalist and his family, KPPA said the role of the police team led by SHO Humhama was criminal as they had fired numerous pepper gas grenades inside Shah’s house, causing suffocation to his six-month-old son, who had to be rushed to the hospital.
Urging J&K Police top authorities to take severe action against the SHO Humhama and his team involved in the brutal attack, KPPA said if J&K would shield the officer and his team, it would have no option but to hit the streets, stage protests against J&K Police. (KNS)
