Dy CM directs officials to prepare DPR
Srinagar | May 12: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Thursday directed for construction of a multiplex on modern lines in the Bandipora town.
While conducting an extensive tour of the town Deputy Chief Minister directed Director Urban Local Bodies for making a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for construction of a multiplex in the town which would be having commercial shops, parking and other related facilities.
The multiplex will come up in the heart of Bandipora town at Sheikh Mohallah on land of Municipal Committee Bandipora
Earlier Deputy Chief Minister conducted a Public Durbar in the town and interacted with the people during the day long grievance redressal camp (public durbar) organized at Guest house, Bandipora.
Dr Singh also directed the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to ensure the benefit of the Mudra scheme launched by the Prime Minister reaches the people of the district by taking up the issue with the banks so that the benefits of this scheme reach the targeted populace.
He also said that the government has undertaken the skill development initiative under skill India which will go a long way in providing the employability to the youth and by 2020 we would be having 40 lakh skilled people which will ensure the creation of more job opportunities among the youth.
The Deputy Chief Minister also directed the Deputy Commissioner to solve the water logging problems being faced by people living in Hajin area of the district and also come up with a detailed project report for its redressal.
He said the problems being faced by the people especially those living in rural areas would be redressed on priority and necessary mechanism has already been put in place for the same.
Dr Singh while directing the officers to maintain a close liaison with the people of the district said that by doing so they would be getting effective feedback about the problems being faced by them and also initiating necessary measures for their redressal. He said the government is committed to ensure that people’s problems are solved and also providing them with all the requisite amenities.
Dr Singh said the government has identified certain sectors on priority basis which include education, power, health, Social Welfare and several path-breaking programs have been undertaken in these sectors. He said the people should also come forward and exhibit a participatory role in the implementation and formulation of the schemes, which constitute the basis of any democratic setup. “It is the endeavor of the government to ensure that the people get all the requisite facilities at their doorstep and they are also involved in day to day governance”, he added.
Referring to the PDP-BJP coalition government’s endeavor to ensure holistic development of the state, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the present government has undertaken several historical initiatives, which would ensure that the state comes up as one of the model states in coming future.
The Deputy Chief Minister while responding to the people’s demands of equipping the District hospital said that he would take up the issue with the concerned. He also said that all un-electrified hamlets of the Bandipora would soon be provided with electricity.
