HCJK protests against Kupwara killings

Police detains Reshi, Untoo, other activists

Srinagar, Apr 15 (KNS): Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Muhammad Ahsan Untoo Friday protested against brutal killings of Handwara which was organized by Hurriyat Conference JK and Liberation Front.
As already Hurriyat Conference JK convener Shabir Ahmad Dar day before has given protest program to show solidarity with Handwara people in connection to make protest successful HCJK Leader and Young Men’s League Chairman Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and International Forum for justice chairman Muhammad Ahsan Untoo today protested at Abi Guzar Lalchowk against brutal killings ,continue curfew detention of youths .Besides restrictions and curbs Muhammad Ahsan Untoo and Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi managed to reach Aabi Guzar ,On the occasion Liberation front leader Sheikh Ab Rashid, Mushtaq Ajmal ,Ashraf bin Salam were present ,while addressing protesters Leaders in one voice said Kashmir has been converted into complete police state by Indian Authorty and killing has became daily routine by forces under the shades of black law AFSPA, Leaders paid glowing tribute to Handwara martyrs and expressed their sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved families. HCJK appealed on the occasion to world human rights bodies to focus on Kashmir and put pressure on India to stop human rights violations in Kashmir. Later on Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Sheikh Ab Rashid, Imtiyaz Ahmad were arrested by police and shifted to Khothi Bagh police station.
HCJK spokesperson has strongly condemned for foiling protest by police and arresting of leaders. (KNS)
