However, the Shagufta and her parents said that police was “not playing a fair role.”
They worried family that police arrested the brother of Shagufta’s husband and released him after he got bail from a local court.
“The police has not arrested the husband and other in-laws when they too are accused and main culprits in thrashing me,” Shagufta said.
Police said that the brother of Javaid has been arrested on the same day (Sunday) when the woman complained to them.
“We have registered a case against the accused family, and have arrested the brother of Javaid. Other accused family members got anticipatory bail from the court and thus they could not be arrested as we have to abide by the law,” Station House Officer, Ganderbal, Mir Asif Iqbal told KNS.
