Will take forward Vajpayee’s initiatives on Kashmir: Jatinder

Srinagar, Nov 6 (KNS): Bhartiya Janata Party Friday said the Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will carry forward the holistic process of peace and development initiated by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for Kashmir.
“The present government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will carry forward the initiatives taken by NDA government led by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” Dr Jatinder Singh, MoS in PMO told media persons here.
Atal Behari Vajpayee in April, 2003 in a public rally had said that India would wish to resolve all issues by three principles of Insaaniyat (humanism), Jamhooriyat (democracy) and Kashmiriyat (Kashmir’s age old legacy of amity).
Explaining the visit itinerary of the PM, Singh said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Srinagar at 11.30 and will address the rally at 12.00 pm.
According to KNS correspondent, he said that Modi reach Chanderkoot in Ramban district at around 1.30 pm to inaugurate phase-II of 450 Megawatt Baghlihar power project, and will address a rally there at 4.30 pm. Modi will be also inaugurating the four-lanning of Jammu-Srinagar Highway.
“The rally in Srinagar will be a public program where the Pm will have an opportunity to address the people of the valley for the first time after the PDP and BJP formed the alliance,” he said.
On talks with separatists and Pakistan over Kashmir issue, Singh did not elaborate many details, but repeated that “broadly speaking, the present Government will take forward the initiative taken by Atal Behari Vajpayee.”
The BJP leader said that he appeals to the people of the Valley to attend the PM’s rally to listen to him what he has to announce for the development of their state.
Singh also did not explain the reported economic package that Modi will be announcing in his rally. “It will be out of turn for me to spell out the details of the speech which Prime Minister will make tomorrow. But, I will add that all the expectations of the people of the valley will be addressed by the present government,” he said.
On the crackdown on separatists to foil their ‘Million March’ and making Srinagar out of bounds for people, Singh said that it is the concern of the state government and such questions should be asked to the Home ministry of the state. (KNS)
